Super intriguing and pandering, this Girlan-branded white comes from a blend of 50% Pinot Blanc, with Chardonnay and Sauvignon. It's hard to imagine anything more pleasant and centered. The name "448 a.s.l." refers to the geographical position of the Girlan Winery farm, which is located at 448 metres above sea level. Manual harvesting in boxes for the different varieties, which are soon brought to the cellar to be processed before they lose their natural freshness. Simple and accurate vinification at controlled temperature, the wine rests for some time on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks, acquiring complexity and depth. Thus one discovers a fresh wine with delicate aromas. In the mouth it is well balanced, between natural acidity and richness of the fruit. All made even more pleasant by a light aromatic note.

Trattmann is a Pinot Noir, Alto Adige DOC, from the Girlan winery. It comes from a very careful selection of grapes from vineyards in the municipality of Mazzon, from Pinzon, not far away, and from Cornaiano in the Oltradige. Harvested by hand, after destemming the must is transferred by gravity into stainless steel vats where fermentation takes place. Then, after malolactic fermentation, it is aged for 12 months in large oak casks and barriques. This is followed by a further refinement of about 8 months in a large 70-hectolitre cask and another 6 months in the bottle. The result is a wine characterized by a beautifully intense ruby red colour with hints of light garnet. Intense and complex aromas with hints of ripe fruit, cherry and marasca cherry. In the mouth it is soft delicate, vinous, with fruity tannins, good structure and persistence.

One third of the Gewürztraminer grapes selected to produce this extraordinary wine come from the Cornaiano area. We are located on the hills of the Oltradige, where the vineyards enjoy perfect exposure and a beneficial temperature range between day and night that helps to lengthen the ripening period, with a beneficial effect on the finer aromas of the grapes. The remaining two thirds come from the Bassa Atesina - Cortaccia. Manual harvesting and refinement on its own fine lees in steel tanks for 8 months are the basic ingredients of the recipe for this interesting white wine, pleasantly rich and sweetly aromatic. A wine with character that requires a combination with dishes with strong flavour. Only the best grapes, from the most suitable areas, end up in the bottle of this Sauvignon by Cantina Girlan. The production area coincides with the municipalities of Cornaiano, Monticolo and Appiano Monte, at 500 metres above sea level. A mix of soils and exposures that allows the Sauvignon grape, worked in purity, to give excellent results and give the wine a unique character. Brief maceration and pressing of whole bunches. Then fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats and refinement on fine lees, again in steel, and in large oak casks for 8 months. Straw yellow in colour, the nose is striking for its intense aroma of nettle and elderflower. In the mouth it is fresh and lively but well balanced thanks to a certain corpulence. Alto Adige DOC Riserva, Flora comes from a pure processing of Pinot Bianco grapes. An important and precious wine, it is produced using only carefully selected grapes, harvested on particularly suitable soils with minimal yields. Most of the grapes come from the typical production areas of Girlan, characterised by moraine soils very rich in skeleton, which give the wine its typical aroma, fullness and persistence. The remaining grapes come from the Eppan Berg micro-zone in the municipality of Appiano. A cooler area than Girlan, where the soils give the wine freshness and flavour. Fermented in 12 and 15 hectolitre French oak barrels, after the subsequent (and partial) malolactic fermentation, the wine is matured on its own fine lees in barrels. After about a year, it is then passed into stainless steel tanks before being bottled. This is followed by a further 6 months of bottle ageing, before release as a Riserva. This Pinot Bianco is straw yellow in colour and reveals very clear notes of pineapple and ripe fruit. Elegant and persistent, this Flora is pleasantly fresh and well balanced. A white that promises to age well, it is a very versatile wine. From speck to vegetable pies, it is difficult to put it to the test. Just be careful to choose dishes that are rather tasty, to prevent the wine from overpowering everything and stealing the show from our dishes.

From Alto Adige comes this Laurin, an interesting blend of Lagrein and Merlot grapes. It is produced by the Girlan Winery, which chooses different types of soil to harvest its grapes. In part, the grapes come from the hilly vineyards of the Oltradige, at an altitude of around 450 - 500 metres above sea level. In part, however, they come from the Bassa Atesina, where the soils are sandy, warm and deep. Harvested by hand in small containers, the must is precipitated by gravity into stainless steel vats, where it ferments for about two weeks. Then, after malolactic fermentation, it is transferred to barriques and large oak casks for maturation, which lasts about 18 months. In this wine, the soft, velvety harmony of Lagrein and Merlot is enriched by a delicate woody tone. The result is a pleasant, full-bodied red wine with a modern character, which goes exceptionally well with grilled meats, game and spicy cheeses.

Flora Cuvée Cabernet Merlot Riserva, Alto Adige DOC, is an interesting red wine produced by the Girlan winery from grapes grown on the hills of the Oltradige, and partly from the Bassa Atesina. The highest plots of land are located at an altitude of around 450 - 500 metres above sea level, while the lowest plots are located at the bottom of the valley where the soil is sandy, warm and deep. A delicate mix that contributes to the creation of this "cuvée" of fine character. After racking, the wine goes into small oak barrels, where it rests slowly for a period of no less than 20 months. Then, after being blended, it is aged for a further 8 months in the bottle before being marketed as a Riserva. Intense ruby red, the nose reveals a pleasantly vinous and very pleasant character. It has the same fresh sensations on the palate, but also reveals intriguing balsamic notes of rosemary and thyme. An important wine, on the table it requires a tasty combination. Perfect with roasts, it can also easily stand up to savoury meats such as wild boar. A pappardella with meat sauce, for example, with a wine like this becomes a "sin" worth committing... Once in a while, of course.

The Moscato Rosa grape variety is the protagonist here. Pasithea Rosa, Alto Adige DOC, comes from a pure processing of this interesting aromatic grape variety. The Girlan winegrowers cultivate it on the hills of the Oltradige, at an altitude of around 450 - 500 metres above sea level. Here the vineyards enjoy excellent exposure and are well ventilated. The grapes ripen healthily and are rich in aroma and flavour. This is also due to the soils in which they are rooted, rich in minerals and of ancient formation dating back to the glacial era. The grapes are harvested by hand and left to dry on the vine. Harvesting takes place towards the end of the year and the delicate bunches are delivered to the winery in small containers. At the beginning of the following year, maceration on the skins begins and continues for about two weeks. This is followed by pressing and the final fermentation, which is very slow due to the high sugar content. Finally, the wine is matured in small oak barrels, barriques, where Pasithea Rosa waits for no less than eight months. Elegant and complex, this passito has aromas that bring to mind the scent of roses, ripe wild strawberries and cranberries, as well as a delicate spicy character reminiscent of cinnamon. This passito goes well with fruit desserts and simple cakes.
