A DOCG red wine from the Langhe, Barbaresco's fame is equal to that of Barolo, its more famous neighbour, and is distinguished by its complex character and unique elegance. Barbaresco is produced in 17 communes in the Langhe, in the province of Cuneo. Barbaresco was first mentioned in an official document in 1254, while the DOCG was established in 1980. The wine proposed here by Ceretto is made from pure Nebbiolo grapes from some of the best Barbaresco crus. The grapes come from vineyards located at 300 metres above sea level, where the soil is characterised by limestone and clay marl, giving the wine structure and complexity. After manual harvesting, fermentation takes place with long maceration on the skins. Afterwards, the wine rests for a good 24 months in oak tonneaux and large barrels and then completes its ageing period in the bottle. Ceretto Barbaresco has a luminous ruby colour with garnet reflections. The nose reveals elegant floral aromas of violets and dried flowers, hints of officinal and balsamic herbs, liquorice root, aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, morello cherry, delicately spicy nuances of roasting, bitter cocoa and blond tobacco. In the mouth, it has a medium structure, with a subtle tannic texture, fragrant and finely faceted aromas, leading towards a very harmonious, fresh, savoury and persistent finish.

A Barolo of great value, the one offered here by Ceretto is made from pure Nebbiolo grapes from some of the best Barolo crus. A historic company, Ceretto has always been committed to producing wines of the highest quality. In this case, the grapes come from vineyards located about 300 metres above sea level, in the heart of the Barolo production area. The soil here is characterised by calcareous and clayey marls, which give the wine structure and complexity. Made from organically grown grapes, vinification takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with a long maceration on the skins and a delicate extraction. Refinement involves a one-year stay in French oak tonneaux and a year in large oak casks. Then, after bottling, the wine rests in the cellar before being put on sale. An elegant and complex wine, Barolo Ceretto DOCG is ruby red in colour with garnet highlights. The nose has elegant aromas of small red fruits, raspberry, currant, wild strawberry, morello cherry, floral nuances of violet, dried flowers and hints of spice. On the palate it is intense and structured, with ripe tannins and complex, persistent aromas, leading towards a long, pleasantly refreshing finish. Good right from the start, this Piedmontese red is capable of maturing well in the cellar for up to 5-10 years. When uncorked, we will discover a perfect wine to accompany red meat dishes, game, mature cheeses and cured meats. Elegance, complexity and structure.

Ceretto "rossana" Dolcetto D'alba Doc 2022 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Svinando.co.uk
Shipping: 6.9 GBP

Brand: Ceretto
Category: Alcoholic Beverages

A red wine with great personality, Rossana is produced from pure Dolcetto grapes from the Monsordo Bernardina Estate, located in the heart of the Langhe. A red grape variety indigenous to Piedmont, Dolcetto finds an ideal terroir in this region. It is characterised by its freshness, vivacity and soft tannins. Owned by Aziende Vinicole Ceretto, the grapes come from vineyards located 300 metres above sea level, characterised by a typical marly soil that gives the wine structure and complexity. Produced from organic farming, vinification takes place in steel, to enhance the varietal characteristics of Dolcetto. Maceration on the skins is rather short to avoid extracting too many tannins. At the end of the transformation, the wine rests for a few months, again in steel, before being bottled. A fresh and lively wine, Dolcetto d'Alba DOC Rossana in the glass has a ruby red colour. The nose has notes of wild berries, morello cherry, aromatic herbs, red flowers and black pepper. In the mouth it is fresh, juicy and pleasantly tannic. Rossana is a perfect wine to accompany cured meats, mature cheeses and meat sauces.
